Where to Eat on Gameday Weekend

Author: Molly Di Carlo

Three men wearing Notre Dame gear cheer and scream. A big crowd of Notre Dame fans can be seen in the back cheering on the football team.

An Iced Latte from Cafe J. Street Tacos from Street Fare. Fried Chicken Sandwich from Rohr’s. A smoothie from Flip Kitchen. There are so many options when it comes to food and beverages on a gameday weekend, and there’s something for everyone’s taste buds inside the stadium and out. To be prepared, remember that Notre Dame is a cashless campus, and download the Grubhub app in advance.

Friday

With your Grubhub app at your fingertips, check out all the quick service dining options available around campus such as Street Fare, Starbucks, Garbanzo, Chick-fil-A and more. Ordering is easy - just follow these simple directions. Rohr’s is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (reservations recommended). Cafe J, inside Morris Inn, is also open for a quick snack or coffee before exploring campus. Make sure to grab a cupcake at Cafe J from Food Network Halloween Baking Championship Winner and Notre Dame Executive Pastry Chef Sinai Vespie. Or, if you’re wandering outside of Notre Dame Stadium, grab a bite or a drink at Legends - less than 100 yards south. When you’re shopping at the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore - which we assume is on your to-do list - grab a quick pick-me-up from the Gilded Bean.

Saturday

Gameday at Legends is not to be missed. Reserve a spot at the Legendary Tailgate, from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., featuring family friendly tailgate games, live music, and a classic buffet.

At Morris Inn on gamedays, the Wind Family Fireside Terrace behind the Inn is open before and after games for light fare and drinks with an outdoor bar. The firepits are the perfect al fresco dining experience. Inside Morris Inn, also known as the "living room of the University," Cafe J opens at 6 a.m. and is a great place to get coffee or the cupcake of the month. This month’s cupcake is matcha cake with apricot jam filling and a white chocolate buttercream. Rohr’s is open beginning at 7:30 a.m and is also a great spot for a post game nightcap.

Grab a guest meal pass at North or South Dining Hall on gamedays and enjoy a delicious meal. Guest meal tickets can be purchased at the monitor's desk in each respective dining hall.

If you are looking for a quick bite to eat with flatbreads, salads, and smoothies, Flip Kitchen is a great option located inside of LaFortune Student Center. Order in person via kiosks or via the Grubhub mobile app.

You just can’t beat the aroma of tailgating at Notre Dame on a gameday weekend. If you’re planning your own tailgate (or any gathering throughout the weekend!) and want to make it easy on yourself, check out our campus pick-up and delivery catering options.

You’ll also score touchdowns with your tastebuds inside Notre Dame Stadium. Check out the new and local fare in the Concessions Map in the Fighting Irish app.
